UK Global Talent Visa

WHAT IS THE UK GLOBAL TALENT VISA?

The UK Global Talent Visa is designed for leaders and emerging leaders with exceptional skill or promise in science, engineering, arts, film, architecture, fashion, and tech fields. Introduced in 2020, it replaced the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) Visa and provides a route to work, self-employment, and eventual settlement in the UK, without needing a job offer or meeting salary thresholds.

You can stay for up to 5 years, extend your stay, or apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after:

  • 3 years (if endorsed as a leader)
  • 5 years (if endorsed as a potential leader)

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE GLOBAL TALENT VISA UK?

You can apply if you:

  • Are a leader or potential leader in one of the approved fields
  • Have been endorsed by a recognised UK endorsing body or have won an eligible prestigious prize
  • Want to live and work in the UK without being tied to a specific employer
